Galalith, Bakelite, & Plastics - Page 1 Galalith, a milk protien plastic was produced in a rainbow of brilliant colors and marbling patterns. It was used in France and Germany from the 20's to the 40's. Once synthetic plastics were invented the production of Galalith ceased. Our jewelry is designed by contemporary designers from France & Belgium using vintage galalith .

A collection of rare Necklaces designed by French designer Giullemette L`Hoir, a jewelry designer who was a devotee of the famous Art Deco designer Auguste Bonaz. L'Hoir used the colors & geometric shapes that defined the Art Deco era and Bonaz. These were created from vintage galalith and are all signed Giullemette L`Hoir, Paris. L'Hoir's work is shown in the Musee Decorative Arts in Paris.

	Italian Bakelite Bracelet uses vintage bakelite buttons strung on elastic. The buttons are bright green, red, and orange. Chunky and fun look by contemporary Italian designer Simonetta Starrabba. Purchased in Italy. Price $225
